New transformer at Vanderbijlpark substation to improve power reliability to CW areas.

VANDERBIJLPARK - A new transformer delivered to the Emfuleni Local Municipality is expected to improve reliability of electricity supply to various Vanderbijlpark consumers. The Emfuleni Local Municipality MMC for Public Works, Cllr. Tumi Mochawe received the long awaited 30MVA power transformer at the Town Substation yesterday. Once commissioned, the transformer is expected to improve the reliability of electricity supply to consumers at CW Areas, Bophelong, Bophelong Extensions, parts of NW 7, Bonanne and surrounding Agricultural Holdings. MMC Mochawe says the arrival of the new transformer is a step closer to ensuring that the Town Substation meets consumer electricity demand. Mochawe said the arrival of this transformer marks a fresh start for one of our most problematic substations in Vanderbijlpark. He said the new transformer will be added to the existing 30MVA to assist with the growing demand for developments in the CW Area of Vanderbijlpark.
