VANDERBIJLPARK - The Emfuleni Municipality Executive Mayor, Sipho Radebe, alongside Members of the Mayoral Committee and Municipal Manager April Ntuli, unveiled two new waste management vehicles on Friday, March 7, 2025, at the ELM head office in Vanderbijlpark, in a bid to enhance waste collection services. Addressing officials after his motion of no confidence victory, Mayor Radebe acknowledged the municipality’s waste collection backlog and urged officials to find effective solutions. The new fleet, funded through the Municipal Infrastructure Grant, includes a tipper truck and a front-end loader, both with a three-year maintenance plan to reduce long-term costs. More vehicles are expected in the next financial year as part of a grant allocation through the Department of Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs. The Mayor encouraged municipal employees to maintain the vehicles properly, emphasizing their importance in improving service delivery and addressing waste management challenges in Emfuleni.
