Numsa to strike at ArcelorMittal SA over job cuts

VANDERBIJLPARK - Metalworkers union Numsa is going on strike at ArcelorMittal South Africa in Vanderbijlpark today. This after the company dismissed over 100 workers ahead of the festive season. The union’s spokesperson Phakamile Hlubi-Majola accuses management of refusing to explore alternatives like severance packages or redeployment, leaving many workers in hardship.
