Over 500 arrested during weekend operations across Gauteng

VAAL TRIANGLE - Gauteng Traffic Police arrested more than 570 suspects during high-density operations and Operation Shanela across Gauteng between Friday and yesterday. The department's spokesperson Sello Maremane says law enforcement teams including Gauteng Traffic Police, SAPS, Metro Police, and wardens targeted hotspots in Sedibeng in the Vaal Triangle, Johannesburg, Tshwane, Ekurhuleni and the West Rand. He confirmed that over 4,500 people and 1,800 vehicles were searched.
