Police arrest 28 suspects in the Vaal after high-density operation

VANDERBIJLPARK - The Vanderbijlpark SAPS says a recent high-density operation in the Sedibeng area resulted in the arrest of 28 suspects on various charges. Police spokesperson, Sergeant Sabelo Sigcu, said in a statement sent to 90.6 FM News that members and senior officers of all the police stations around the Sedibeng District in the Vaal joined forces over the weekend to curb criminal activities in Vanderbiljpark and Bophelong areas. Stakeholders from various Departments also joined the operation, resulting in 28 arrests and the issuing of 25 traffic fines. Sigcu said the suspects were arrested for crimes including drunken driving, possession of drugs, contravention with Medicine Act and undocumented persons. The Sedibeng District Commissioner Major General A.N. Lemba, who lead the operation, applauded the members for the good work and the arrests made for the day.
