ORANGE FARM - The Orange Farms SAPS is investigating a case of truck hijacking and kidnapping after a private company’s truck was seized, and the driver was kidnapped on Tuesday, 03 September 2024. According to reports, a truck driver was traveling along the R28 when he was stopped by a marked police Nissan bakkie. Believing it was a routine stop, the driver complied. He was approached by individuals in police uniforms who instructed him to check beneath his truck. As he did so, a private car stopped next to him, with one occupant offering assistance. The situation escalated when a second person from the private vehicle approached with a firearm, ordering the driver into the car. His hands were tied with shoelaces, and he was blindfolded with a jersey.
