President Ramaphosa to visit the crisis-hit Emfuleni municipality today

VAAL TRIANGLE - The President will be visiting parts of the Vaal today. President Cyril Ramaphosa is set to lead a delegation of Gauteng government leaders on an oversight governmental visit to the Emfuleni Local Municipality today. The primary objective is to assess the progress and improvements in service delivery. The municipality has faced difficulties in the provision of water services, leading the national Department of Water and Sanitation to intervene and effect upgrades and improvements to critical bulk pipelines and pump stations infrastructure. Ramaphosa’s spokesperson, Vincent Magwenya, says President Ramaphosa will visit the area's waste water treatment plant and highway pump stations before meeting with stakeholders in the area. He said the visit is in line with the president’s commitment to oversee the implementation of the ‘Leave No One Behind’ district development module which is a critical component of the presidential imbizo.

After the visit, Ramaphosa will fly out to Paris to support the Springboks in the Rugby World Cup final. The Springboks is taking on the All Blacks in Paris on Saturday.
