MEYERTON - International professional boxer from Meyerton, Chris van Heerden has put EFF leader Julius Malema on blast over his performance of the contentious struggle song “Kill the Boer” at the EFF’s 10th-anniversary celebrations recently. The International Box Champion, who is based in the US, reacted to Malema’s scandal in a video posted on his Twitter account. Van Heerden reflected of his own father, Daniel Christoffel, who was shot and killed near his farm in Meyerton in 2018 by a man who supports the EFF. According to Van Heerden, singing the so-called struggle song is politically motivated and the leader is pushing his agenda by brainwashing the people to believe they can kill a farmer because their leader tells them to do so. Van Heerden’s farther, Danie van Heerden was shot and killed by Sabelo Dlamini in a video that was widely shared on social media. The murder trial lasted almost five years and Dlamini was sentenced to ten years imprisonment.
