SHARPEVILLE - President Cyril Ramaphosa will deliver a keynote address at the national Human Rights Day commemoration in Sharpeville, Vaal Triangle, Gauteng, today. The event, themed ‘Three Decades of Respect for and Promotion of Human Rights,’ coincides with the 30th anniversary of freedom and democracy. According to the Presidency, the hosting of the event in Sharpeville symbolises the government’s commitment to honour the sacrifices made by those who fought and died for South Africa’s liberation in Sharpeville in 1960. Ramaphosa will commence the event with a wreath-laying ceremony at the Sharpeville Memorial Site.
