Rand Water warns of widespread disruptions as major maintenance begins Thursday

VAAL TRIANGLE - Rand Water says major metros will be hit by their upcoming maintenance period. The utility’s Group Chief Executive Sipho Mosai gave a media update yesterday. The maintenance is expected to start on Thursday and will affect Gauteng municipalities, including Lesedi, Midvaal, Emfuleni, Rand West, Merafong, Mogale City and Madibeng. Municipalities outside of Gauteng that will be affected include Govan Mbkei, Rustenburg, Royal Bafokeng Administration, Victor Khanye and Thembisile Hani.Rand Water has also predicted that Metsimaholo will be without water for up to 16 days. Mosai says the maintenance is part of the utility’s commitment to ensure a sustainable and efficient water supply.
