Reminder that tomorrow, 15 December 2023, has been declared a public holiday

VAAL TRIANGLE - Vaal Triangle and other South African residents are reminded that tomorrow, 15 December 2023, has been declared a public holiday in celebration of the Springboks' record Rugby World Cup victory earlier this year. At the end of October, shortly after the Springbok’s nail-biting 12-11 victory over the All Blacks, President Cyril Ramaphosa said that 15 December 2023 would be a public holiday to celebrate hope and unity in the country. In a 30-minute-long speech, which included the government's achievements, the president said that they had considered the matric exams, which started that following, in declaring the date for the public holiday. At the time, Ramaphosa said our sports men and women have shown us what is possible. He said we will succeed and we will ensure that we leave no-one behind.
