SASOLBURG - Sasol has maintained market guidance for its Mining and Gas divisions despite challenges during the six months ending 31 December. According to Sasol, revised volume outlooks for Secunda operations and the Natref refinery in Sasolburg impacted sales, however cost management and margin improvements mitigated financial impacts. Sasol says it continues addressing challenges through key initiatives, including equipment reliability and coal quality improvements. It emphasises continued navigation of disruptions like Mozambique unrest and a Natref fire. The fire has caused damage to supporting piping and infrastructure around its crude distillation unit. Sasol said repairs are anticipated to be completed before the end of February this year, and plans are being implemented to address supply shortfalls, where possible. This includes product purchases. Natref’s full-year production is expected to decline by as much as 10%.
