Sebokeng residents march over police corruption allegations

SEBOKENG - The Sebokeng community has rallied behind KZN Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi after his explosive allegations against Police Minister Senzo Mchunu and senior SAPS officials. In a July 6 media briefing, Mkhwanazi revealed evidence of political killings, political interference, cover-ups in assassination probes, and R360 million in suspicious contracts. He claimed over 125 dockets were removed from the disbanded Political Killings Task Team, allegedly on Mchunu’s orders via Deputy Commissioner Shadrack Sibiya. In response, Sebokeng residents marched to the Sebokeng SAPS police station, submitting a memorandum demanding prosecutions and Mchunu’s immediate removal. A motion of no confidence in both Mchunu and Sibiya was also passed. President Ramaphosa will address the nation on Sunday, July 13, at 19:00.
