VAAL TRIANGLE - Section 27 says Treasury’s planned budgetary cuts in the mid-term budget will impact the Health Department’s service delivery. This includes a reduction in HIV and Aids treatments, a shortage of health-care professionals resulting in delayed diagnoses and treatments, as well as reduced access to medical facilities. Section 27 researcher Matshidiso Lencoasa told Newzroom Afrika this could derail the 90-90-90 goal; 90% of all individuals with HIV knowing their diagnosis, 90% of those diagnosed on treatment, and 90% of those on treatment achieving the suppression of the virus.
