VANDERBIJLPARK - The Vanderbijlpark SAPS says a security officer, who shot a suspected robber at a teller machine at the Vaal Mall, has been sentenced to 20 years imprisonment. Police spokesperson, Sergeant Sabelo Sigcu, said in a statement sent to 90.6 FM News that the African male Thapelo Radebe was accused of murder after he shot the victim without proper consideration. The suspected robber was found with no weapon on his possession whatsoever. It is alleged that the victim was a suspected robber when the security officers were delivering money to a certain automated teller machine at the Vaal Mall. Sigcu said Sergeant Michael Ntephe of the Vanderbiljpark Detective unit has proven that, even if the investigations might take a while to complete, it will yield positive results at the end.
