PARYS - Two men, aged 22 and 29, appeared in the Parys Magistrate’s Court yesterday, January 14, following a violent farm attack in Morelig, Parys, that claimed the life of 58-year-old Themba Motha and left his 61-year-old partner severely injured. The suspects face charges of murder, house robbery, and vehicle theft. The attack occurred in the early hours of Friday, January 10, when the victims were assaulted in their home. The suspects fled with a Mahindra bakkie and goods valued at R65,000. The stolen vehicle was later discovered abandoned in Tumahole, and an extensive investigation led to the suspects’ arrest on Sunday, January 12. Police spokesperson Sergeant Josephine Rani praised the swift work of the investigation team, stating that their dedication ensured the suspects were apprehended quickly. The court proceedings will continue as the community watches closely for justice to be served.
