Taxi Driver shot dead during a shooting incident in Bophelong.

BOPHELONG - The SAPS is investigating a case of murder after a taxi driver has been shot dead by an unknown male in Bophelong on Wednesday evening, 04 October. According to an eyewitness, the incident occurred just after the taxi driver, who usually ranked from Vanderbijlpark to Sasolburg has taken passengers from the Vaal Mall to Bophelong. It is alleged that as the taxi reached gas house in Bophelong/Muvhango Ext 2, there three males asked the taxi to stop and asked the driver whether the taxi was going to Delfos. As the driver said no, he was shot three times. He managed to drive for a short distance, hit a tree and got out of the taxi and ran, but unfortunately died a few metres from the taxi. The three males escaped the scene and are still on the run.
