The court postpones the rape case of Bishop Zondo.

EVATON - The rape trial of Bishop Bafana Zondo from the Living Waters Church in Evaton was postponed by the North Gauteng high court in Pretoria until February 2024. This comes after presiding judge Papi Masopa announced that he will be taking a long leave from September. Masopa said this will allow defense lawyer Piet Pistorius enough time to bring in a new witness to testify as the testimony of one of the state witnesses contradicted her the rape allegation against the bishop by stating that her alleged rapist was instead a gospel singer. Zondo is facing multiple charges of rape and tried to bribe one of his victims to drop charges for offences said to have been committed between the 1980s and 2018. Zondo is facing 10 charges including rape, indecent assault, and defeating the ends of justice. He goes back to court on February 19.
