The SAPS’ Operation Shanela cracks down on crime in Orange Farm

ORANGE FARM - Gauteng Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Tommy Mthombeni, led a successful high-density Operation Shanela on the Golden Highway in Orange Farm. The operation yielded significant results, including the recovery of a hijacked vehicle and the arrest of three suspects, aged 30 to 40, for possession of two unlicensed firearms. In addition, eight individuals were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, and over 20 undocumented persons were apprehended. A local liquor outlet was also shut down for non-compliance with the Liquor Act. The police says this operation demonstrates the commitment in addressing criminal activity, ensuring public safety and enforcing compliance with regulations in our communities.
