The SAPS shines at the Sasol Techno X career expo.

SASOLBURG - Hundreds of high school pupils gathered in Sasolburg recently for the 21st annual Sasol Techno X career expo. The three-day event exposed high school pupils to career opportunities in science, technology, engineering, arts, mathematics and innovation (STEAMI) – through an immersive, hands-on experience. The South African Police Service also showed off their technological skills in the fight against crime. The SAPS was presented as an employer of choice to the learners and to showcase and educate them on the various career paths available in the SAPS. The SAPS exhibitions had 17 units represented. The centre of attraction was the crime scene display, where copper thieves were arrested. Benji, a Body Fluid detection Dog, and his handler, Warrant Officer Leon Strydom, kept the leaners and other spectators entertained by displaying their abilities to find blood stains at crime scenes. The Provincial Commissioner of the Free State, Lieutenant General Baile Motswenyane, thanked everyone involved in the arrangements and for their contributions which resulted in the great success of the exhibition.
