Three men drowned after their vehicle ended up in the Wilgeriver

ORANJEVILLE - Free State police say three men drowned in the Wilgerivier in Oranjeville, Vaal Triangle, over the weekend after their vehicle ended up in the river. Police spokesperson, Sergeant Josephine Rani, said in a statement it is alleged the three men were driving in a Toyota Hilux from Frankfort to Oranjeville in the early hours of Sunday, 5 November 2023. She said while driving on the Magrietha Prinsloo Bridge, the vehicle lost control and fell into the river. The Free State dive unit and the K9 search and rescue unit recovered three bodies of the deceased, namely Rakometsi Lazarus Thithi (28), Prince Mako (33), and Money Mofokeng (37). The Oranjeville detectives are investigating a case of culpable homicide. The investigation still continues.
