Umalusi calls on parents to ensure the centres where matric exams are written are accredited.

VAAL TRIANGLE - Education quality assurance body Umalusi has urged parents to ensure that the examination centers where their children are registered for the National Senior Certificate are accredited. This comes as matriculants around South Africa will be writing exams from 30 October to 6 December. Umalusi chief executive, Mafu Rako-metsi, highlights that this aims at preventing the operation of illegal schools and ensuring that educational institutions comply with the standards set by the assurance body. Rakometsi says schools administered without the necessary accreditation will be criminally charged.
