Vaal residents to brace for a heatwave for the rest of the week

VAAL TRIANGLE - Vaal Triangle and other Gauteng residents have been warned to brace for a heatwave across several parts of the province. The South African Weather Service (Saws) said hot temperatures were expected in the province from yesterday. The weather service said heatwave conditions resulting in persistently high temperatures, exceeding average maximum are expected in places over Gauteng and the eastern parts of the North West until Friday. The mercury is expected to hit the high thirties in some areas. Temperatures in the Vaal are forecast to hit around 34 degrees Celsius. The Weather Service also issued a warning for extremely high fire danger conditions in four provinces as a heatwave persists over parts of Gauteng and the North West.
