VANDERBIJLPARK - The Vanderbijlpark Sector 3 CPF says it intercepted a vehicle over the weekend that was possibly involved in various crimes in the Vanderbijlpark area. The CPF says the Vanderbijlpark SAPS VISPOL Task Team on Friday evening received information that a vehicle possibly involved in house robberies and house break-ins were on its way to Vanderbijlpark. The group says information was operationalised together with their commander and Sector 3 patroller and observations were kept in the hotspot area where the vehicle was last known to have been busy. The members spotted the vehicle and kept it under observation where it was driving around aimlessly in the same area. They then executed a tactical takedown and upon searching the vehicle, one suspect was found in possession of a firearm. Upon follow-up it was established that the firearm was robbed from the registered owner in 2022. The CPF says they are investigating possible linkage to other crimes around Vanderbijlpark.
