VANDERBIJLPARK - The Vanderbijlpark SAPS says Coca Cola Beverages South Africa, led by Ayanda Zwane, on Wednesday made a big donation to the SAPS Crime Prevention Forum at the Marikana informal settlement. Police spokesperson, Sergeant Sabelo Sigcu, said in a statement sent to 90.6 FM News that the donation included 20 bicycles with helmets, 100 torches, 100 reflector jackets and 100 caps. Crime Prevention Forum Chairperson, David Ndindwa, received the donations on behalf of Vanderbiljpark and Bophelong patrollers and also expressed words of gratitude to the Coca Cola team for the initiative. Lt. Colonel Bertie van der Ryst, who spoke on behalf of the Acting Station Commander Colonel Mashele, also applauded the initiative by Coca Cola as these bicycles will cover a huge area when being used by the patrollers in the process of ensuring visibility in Vanderbiljpark and Bophelong areas.
