Vanderbijlpark SAPS cracks down on drug suspects and houses

VANDERBIJLPARK - The Vanderbijlpark SAPS says they recently arrested various suspects and seized large amounts of drugs at houses suspected of selling drugs in Bophelong. Police spokesperson, Sgt Sabelo Sigcu, said in a statement Operation Shanela recently based in Vanderbijlpark’s main focus was to eradicate any criminal activities terrorising the community. Sigcu said roadblocks, stop and search and raids were also done at illegal sheebens, including houses suspected to be selling drugs around Vanderbiljpark areas and Bophelong. He said officers were joined by Major General Lemba and Senior Officers, searching motor vehicles and ensuring that the operation runs smoothly. Major General Lemba also encouraged the members to be vigilant when doing their work. Sigcu encouraged members of the public to report any criminal activities in their area to the nearest police station.
