VANDERBIJLPARK - Police have recovered the body of two-year-old Kutlwano Shalaba, who went missing in November last year. His mother, the 32 year old Keneilwe Shalaba, remains in custody after being denied bail by the Vanderbijlpark Magistrate’s Court. She faces charges of human trafficking and conspiracy to commit a crime. Kutlwano was reportedly sold for R75,000, with the funds deposited into the mother's account on the day of his disappearance. She reported a false kidnapping at Boipatong SAPS, claiming three men had snatched her son. She was arrested on 19 November after police uncovered the truth. A sangoma has now become the latest person arrested in connection with the case, which continues to send shockwaves through the local community.
