Warning of fake RDP house allocation notices doing the rounds in Gauteng

VAAL TRIANGLE - The Gauteng Department of Human Settlements has issued a warning to Vaal Triangle and other Gauteng residents that there are a number of fake RDP house allocation notices that have been making the rounds. One such fake notice states the Department of Human Settlements are looking for an applicant who applied for RDP houses from 1996 until 2024. Applicants are then encouraged to send their personal details to a Mr Mokoena to check if their application on their housing subsidy has been approved. However, the Gauteng Department warned that government services are offered at no cost. It encouraged residents to make housing queries at one of the five customer support centres across Gauteng. The department asked members of the public to report these criminal elements and corruption in the government housing value chain to the Gauteng Hotline on 0860 428 8364.
