Work on burst pipeline supplying Emfuleni expected to finish on Saturday

VAAL TRIANGLE - Rand Water has confirmed that a pipe burst on A15 pipeline on Tuesday, 4 June 2024, and expects to finish work on the pipeline on Saturday. Rand Water spokesperson, Victoria Mpolokeng, said in a statement the pipeline supplies water from the Vereeniging Water Treatment Plant to parts of the Emfuleni Local Municipality and the Sasolburg Reservoir. Mpolokeng said this burst resulted in the total collapse of the pipe which requires replacement of a section of it. She said Rand Water is working tirelessly to ensure completion of this replacement as soon as possible. Work is expected to continue until the early hours of Saturday morning, 8 June 2024. Rand Water said this will affect supply to customers in Emfuleni Local Municipality, Metsimaholo Local Municipality and the Ngwathe Local Municipality. The organisation apologised for the inconvenience caused.
