Load-shedding is back with stages 2 and 3 being implemented.

Load-shedding has returned with stage two currently being implemented until 16:00 this afternoon followed by stage three until 05:00 tomorrow morning. After that stage two will be enforced until 16:00. This pattern will repeat daily until further notice.

Eskom’s spokesperson, Daphne Mokwena, says the return of load-shedding is necessary to replenish emergency reserves ahead of the anticipated cold weather, which will increase the demand for electricity over the next few days.
