Sebokeng Police Crack Down on Illicit Goods in Festive Season Operation

SEBOKENG - The Sebokeng SAPS spearheaded a Provincial Illicit Goods Operation in collaboration with key stakeholders to enhance safety during the festive season. The operation, supported by the Sedibeng District Police, K9 Unit, Emfuleni By-Laws, Gauteng Traffic, Home Affairs, Emfuleni Health, and other stakeholders, focused on non-compliant businesses and illicit activities. Rea Gazette reports inspections of 20 Spazashops in Sebokeng led to 14 being shut down due to non-compliance with health regulations identified by Emfuleni Health. Additionally, four individuals were arrested for illegal immigration, while two others were apprehended for possession of illicit cigarettes. Colonel Stofina Mofokeng, Acting Station Commander, praised community members for their anonymous tips, emphasizing the importance of public cooperation in ensuring safety. Sergeant Nthabiseng Mokhachane urged residents to report crimes and join patrols to foster safer neighborhoods during the festive period.
